Curtis Valvo had been my sons teacher at the school and was already making a tremendous impact on the way my son communicated with us, that when news of the schools closing came I got excited at the chance we may get the opportunity for him to work with my son more than just a hour or so a day. Because of Curtis' tireless work on helping my son communicate, my son can now communicate with us using ACC devices and pictures as well as other means. My son can now let us know what he wants in so many ways that I cannot begin to tell you the progress he has made. Curtis has helped my son with not only his communication skills but everyday task such as dressing himself, putting on his shoes, feeding himself, getting drinks, social skills, being able to handle himself in public, calming him down when stressed, safety , fine motor skills by giving him task to work, etc., etc, I can’t say enough about this man. I have great reports from my son's teacher about what work you have done with him in the classroom. You have helped consult with her and my son's Occupational Therapist to form a team approach and followed along with what I want my son to accomplish. Yet, you don't just say yes to me. I hired you for your expertise and you voice your concerns when you disagree with me. I like that. You point out when I might want to reconsider how I do something with my son to get a desired behavior to change. I would recommend your services to anyone.
